*edited to add: If I remember right, the quilt is about 20 inches by 20 inches, with each square just under 2 inches.
This little present is for a special Junebaby. Ever since I saw this quilt made from Liberty fabrics at the Tokyo quilt festival this year, I could not get it out of my head. So I thought a doll quilt would be a perfect way to dip my toes into the look of Liberty fabrics in a quilt. All prints are Liberty tana lawn, and the binding is the same fabric I used for this dress for my daughter. That fabric made its way all the way from London to Tokyo, via the extraordinary Carolyn in Chicago.
Machine pieced and machine quilted, with the binding hand stitched to the back.

Oh, how gorgeous! I really, really want to try my hand at making a doll’s quilt. I keep saying that but I need to get on with doing it. Thank you for the inspiration!

Love its simplicity. Must be wonderful to touch.
I once held a Liberty quilt in my hands at Hobbyra Hobbyre and it was SO light and soft… Liberty quilts are really precious.
What a beautiful gift. I hope the baby and the quilt get together some time to cuddle a bit.

Did you quilt squares in the white squares? (Where it looks creased….)

Yes, those are quilting lines in the muslin squares. I left the prints unquilted.

I say, quilt on in confidence with Liberty!
I’m gone, but not forgetting that I volunteered to name the BOM for the Jane group in June, Jennifer. By mid-May I’ll be back to my own handwork and ready to contribute. Best, Cristina
