It is my great pleasure to add some more photographs to my Tokyo Crafty Shopping set. This time, I went to La Droguerie in Maihama. This shop is in the Ikspiari plaza, just outside Tokyo Disneyland. La Droguerie is probably the most captivating craft store ever. Wait, “craft store” does not do it justice. Luscious ribbons, yarns, trims, laces, buttons, buttons and more buttons. Patches, beads, felt and more felt. The shops (I have been to the Omotesando store as well, but there are several other brances in Japan) are the ultimate in eye candy, and the prices are also quite ultimate as well. You know how sometimes in a jewelry store, you can imagine how you could walk out of the store with the tiniest little wrapped box, all the while knowing that the smallest box invariably yields the highest price tag? That is how I felt leaving La Droguerie today. The smallest slip of a bag contained the lightest and most precious of treasures. All is well, though, as a small bag from La Droguerie looks much less suspicious to a husband than a large bag of fabric from Kinkado. You can keep my secret, right? This bird’s not telling a soul.

You are right. La Droguerie is beautiful but I become completely overwhelmed everytime I enter the store and I always leave empty-handed. One day though I will be courageous and buy something as cute as your bird!!!

Oh yes, La Droguerie is… tempting, more than tempting… :o) I didn’t know they exist in Japan, too. I know the Paris shop. There they also have extremely beautifull wool an other yarns für knitting, too.

I’ve been to the store in Paris and it is truly the Walhalla for knitters and crafters! Didn’t know they had expanded to Japan – only good news for crafters around the world! Another excuse to travel!
Wish they would come to Holland…

I’m jealous that you have La Droquerie in Japan! I think you should support them as much as you can.
And, you have a great blog!
